If you read my post last week in which I ate a stink bug, you'll be happy to know I have been able to move on with my life. Somewhat.
In fact, one could say I have learned a few things from the episode. Some of them from my readers. I have grown.
And so I have compiled a list for you of the
Top 5 Things I've Learned From the Stink-Bug Episode
#5) All things small and crunchy are NOT Rice Krispie Treats.
#4) NUMBER ONE FAMILY RULE: Don't eat bugs! (Thanks, reader Kristi)
#3) Don't eat off your shirt (thanks, Tombstone Livestock)
#2) Eating things in dim light is henceforth never going to happen ever again. I will have to insist on house lights at the movies from now on.
#1) Crouching in a dark corner twitching and sucking your thumb does not let you untaste a stinkbug.

If you want to read more about our #1 family rule, I actually blogged about it here: http://www.thankfulme.net/2012/07/thursday-thoughts-family-rules.html
ReplyDeleteI just read your post to my husband. I think he is pleased his rule is being adopted in other families. :-)
EWW!!! I never knew stink bugs where real!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my Gosh, I am CRINGING just reading this!!! UGH. Worst story ever!!!
ReplyDeleteI can see how this would be disturbing. I would have to adopt a no-eating-with-lights-dimmed rule as well!
ReplyDeleteKristi, Jennifer, Kim, and DoR, thanks for stopping by, and thanks for your sympathies. Yes, Virginia, stink bugs are real. Very real. And very distasteful.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! Sounds like a tough lesson to learn! The advice that you got is hilarious. Words to live by!
ReplyDeleteTruly, Rachel....
