Inspiration Sunday
Dedicated to the dear friend of my sister whose sweet, beautiful, six year old son Benjamin was among those killed in the Friday school shooting in Connecticut.....

"A Thousand Words Can't Bring You Back,
I Know Because I Tried
And Neither Can a Million Tears
I Know Because I Cried."

"The light of a distant star continues to reach the Earth long after
the star itself is gone."
~Author Unknown
"They say that time in heaven is compared to 'the blink of an eye'
for us on this earth. Sometimes it helps me to think of my child
running ahead of me through a beautiful field of wildflowers and
butterflies; so happy and completely caught up in what she is
doing that when she looks behind her, I'll already be there."
~Author Unknown
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory
becomes a treasure."
~Author Unknown
"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall
see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your
delight."
~Kahlil Gibran
"The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul
arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something
which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore,
absolutely and irretrievably lost."
~Arthur Schopenhauer
"Angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are
gone."
~Author Unknown
"Breathe.
Listen for my footfall in your heart.
I am not gone but merely walk within you."
~Nicholas Evans
"And if I go while you’re still here…
know that I live on, vibrating to a
different measure behind a thin
veil you cannot see through. You
will not see me so you must have
faith. I wait the time when we can
soar again, both aware of each
other. Until then, live your life to
its fullest, and when you need me
just whisper my name in your
heart…I will be there."

Rest in peace, Benjamin....
Please consider giving a donation to the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting. A Paypal fund has been set up to collect money to help parents pay for the funerals of their children. You can write in Benjamin Wheeler's name or keep it general.

I have no words, only sorrow and prayers. The whole world is in mourning for the loss of the children and teachers xxxx
ReplyDeleteSometimes, even in the horror of what happened, it still seems so far away...until we hear the name of a victim, and how they are connected to someone we "know". Prayers for your sister's friend and her family!!
ReplyDeleteOh beautiful and I must tell you I didn't know Benjamin personally, but belong to a belong to a Facebook blogging group and one of the members was also very good friends with the parents of this little boy. Their kids grew up together. Our group has actually set up a donation in this little boy's name to try to help his family defer some of the funeral costs and also purchase a start in Ben's name and if you get a chance please stop by my blog to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIt's horrible for everyone, just beyond horrible, but knowing someone, being so close to it must be even that much more worse. Hugs, prayers, and a million wonderful, warm thoughts to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little boy. Seeing the sweet faces of these babies as they are being released is almost too hard to bear. They are all in the arms of the angels now - a sweeter place than here. It is hard to remember that during this time...

ReplyDeleteJanine, thanks for the heads-up on the fundraiser your friend started. I added a link to it on this post. God willing, Francine and her husband will at least get enough money to bury their little boy.
Thanks for sharing and linking up at Thumping Thursdays. We hope to see again this week. :)

ReplyDeletePoor sweet baby! I can't even begin to fathom what their entire community is going through right now, especially in the midst of the holidays. I was particularly taken with the quote... "...my child
ReplyDeleterunning ahead of me through a beautiful field...when she looks behind her, I'll already be there." What a wonderful/comforting thought! {{HUGS}}
Thank you for sharing at this difficult time, Anne. Sending thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteWhen our own words fail us, how comforting to be able to lean on those of others. Writing is surely a noble profession that helps us express the unspeakable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the wonderful comments, people. So heartbreaking. So hard to understand.
ReplyDeleteThere are no words only a heavy heart.
