Like every one else, I'm geting pretty tired of all the political nonsense.
The bickering, the finger-pointing, the mud-slinging.
Politicians who don't keep their word.
Politicians who aren't responsible.
Politicians who think they have all the answers and no one else knows what they're doing.
I feel like I'm back at the playground with my too-young-for-school-kids. The other Moms and I had to deal with this kind of malarkey constantly.
In fact, come to think of it, most Moms could stop all this in a heartbeat.
That's what we need in Washington. Not more politicians, just a few good, old-school Moms. I present to you the list of the ...
Top Five Ways Moms Would Solve Things in Washington
#5 ) Manners
What do you say?
WHAT DO YOU SAY???
Yes, please and thank you, and don't you forget it again.
#4) Sharing
If you can't share, you can't play.
#3) Allowance
No you can't buy a popsicle from the ice cream truck.
Why? Because you spent your allowance already.
B-U-D-G-E-T.
#2) Consequences
Why didn't we bring your scooter with us? Because you didn't put it away like you were supposed to, so you don't get to use it for a week. It's called consequences.
#1) Counting
You'd better stop amassing uranium right this minute mister. That's it!

Anne Kimball: You are am amazing and clever writer. Love your assessment of Washington, D.C. I'm right there with you. Can't stand politics. I do my best to turn it off, but when you're married to a federal lobbyist like I am, politics finds a way to infiltrate even the most sacred of our conversations. That's when my wedding mantra comes in: love is patient, love is kind, listen patiently and then sink your brain into the good stuff, like Duran Duran music.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great if it was actually that simple? Good solutions!

ReplyDeleteLove it! I bet a lot of their mothers would say the same! I heard the worst ad on the radio this week while I was driving to work....one of our state candidates calling the other one "sleezy"! I don't have children but know from experience with all of my nieces and nephews that they pick up on more than we can imagine! How do you explain that to the little ones in the car with you?!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, thanks for stopping in today! Glad you enjoyed. See you tomorrow?
