Eleven Friends

Our dinnertime grace starts out,
"For health and food,
For love and friends ...."

The other night, I heard Julie a little more clearly than usual. Her version was slightly different:
"For health and food,
Eleven friends ...."

  1. So cute. I can only imagine what she does to the pledge of allegiance. :)

  2. Oh too funny. I love when we find out that their "versions" are different. I have vivid memories of songs I used to sing as a child, only to find out twenty years later that I had the lyrics completely wrong. Another great find on TALU this morning! ;)

  3. That's such a classic - you listen to and sing along with a song your whole life, then one day you're watching TV (or maybe you're at a karaoke bar or something) and the lyrics scroll across the screen - your face goes blank. That's the line?!?!?! :)

  4. Haha! I've done that many times. At least it still kind of makes sense. Did you tell her those weren't the actual words? Visiting from TALU.

  5. Thanks for the comments, ladies. I will be sure to tell Julie that she's not alone. In her defense, she hadn't been speaking English very long!

  6. That was cute. That will stick. I sing the wrong lyrics to some songs still today. I prefer "electric boobs" to electric boots in Bennie & The Jets.

  7. I love that. My husband sings the wrong words all the time--and it always tickles me. Visiting from TALU.
