Olympic Moms

With the Olympics coming up, I wanted to repost this.

It's not that I want to do this company's advertising for them, it's just that it's so darn moving to this emo Mom that I could watch it over and over again.

You Moms out there know what I'm talking about...

Wordless Wednesday - Amish Orthodonture

Took Julie to the orthodontist.

Shoot, the only other spot in the shade is taken by an Amish buggy.

What. Sometimes the Amish need the orthodontist, too.

A Tip For Tuesday - Toddler Straws

When my kids were little - toddler to preschool age - there was an item I took to carrying in my diaper bag that made things a bit easier whenever we ate out.

Flexi straws.

For little ones, whether they're a baby sitting in a high chair, or a young child sitting on a chair at a table, they have a hard time drinking from a cup without the contents spilling all over them. Putting a straw in it makes it even worse because the top of the straw is up too high, and when they tilt it down to reach, the cup titls, too. And spills.

But a bendy straw? No longer an issue, even when the cup is up at an awkward level.

And a toothbrush holder is the perfect thing to keep them in to keep them clean in the bottom of your purse or diaper bag.

The model I used in this-here little photo shoot? My adorable nephew.

Couldn't you just eat 'im for breakfast?

Living in a Land Down Under

Living in a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover!

I want to take cover.
By climbing back into bed and pulling the covers over my head.

My Rosie is gone to the land down under!

This past Tuesday she hopped on a jet plane and flew off to Australia with her People to People group.

I MISS MY BABY!

And I'm afraid of the plundering men.

And sharks.

And scorpions and spiders and snakes.

And any other deadly things that begin with an "S".

And I don't want a dingo to eat my baby!

She'll be alright.
Won't she?

Tell me she'll be alright.

It's only three weeks, after all, what could go wrong?

Don't answer that....

Here she is, getting on the bus and driving off like she hasn't a care in the world.

Julie had to mop me up with a sponge off the asphalt. I dissolved right there in the parking lot.

Good bye my darling baby girl who is now all grown up!

Send me a post card!

Come home soon!

Watch out for rabid wallabies!

Farm Friday - The Drinker Nipple

It CAME! My poultry waterer from Coop Queen arrived last week.

It's embarrassing to admit how happy this made me.

Here is the info sheet included in the box. A few quotes:

"All across the country a revolution is quietly brewing in small coops and hen houses."

See? I knew my rooster Big Daddy was up to no good!

"The secret lies in a very simple fitting, the drinker nipple....these nipples form the heart of the drinking system. As a rule when planning your watering system, provide 1 nipple for every 3 birds."

I'm telling you, this is more fun than sprinkling "bitches" into casual conversation when talking about female dogs.

Everyone should get one of these, chickens or no chickens. Just so you can say drinker nipple, or chicken nipple. It's fun for the whole family!

I haven't set it up just yet, but I will this weekend. Pictures to follow....
